Dissolvi was founded in 2022 out of the conviction that CPQ can be done better. Not bigger, but more personal. Not impersonal, but engaged.
This story doesn't start as a vendor, but as a client. More than 15 years ago I worked with a CPQ system myself, with all the upsides and frustrations that come with it. That experience eventually brought me to Sofon, who at some point asked me to come on board as a consultant.
Client, consultant at the vendor, and now independent specialist — that combination of perspectives gives a complete picture of what a CPQ model really needs to keep working.
After my former employer was acquired, the focus shifted. Clients started to feel like a number, and internal process began to matter more than people.
In that same period, while I was also leaving that employer, my father passed away. A man who spent most of his life as an independent entrepreneur. Hard-working, honest, and always close to his customers. Two major setbacks that arrived at almost the same time.
My father once said: "It's headwind that makes a person rise." A phrase from aviation — a plane takes off precisely because of headwind. Translated into life: setbacks are what ultimately make you stronger. That thought helped me hold my course through that difficult period.
The combination of those experiences and insights led me to a clear conclusion: clients are better served by a personal, specialised firm than by a large, impersonal software company.
