Your Sofon model holds more value than you think — and AI can extract it.
An honest note first. Sofon is an excellent CPQ platform that handles complex configurations very well. Most of my experience and the value I add sits with Sofon — and I don't advise any client to migrate without a good reason. Staying on Sofon is, in many cases, the wisest choice.
But sometimes there are reasons to look at another platform. If that's the case, Hive CPQ is, in my view, the most logical next step. And it's worth knowing that the knowledge you've built up in Sofon doesn't have to be lost.
After years of use, a Sofon model is a genuine treasure trove. Product logic, calculation rules, exceptions, decisions — it's all baked in. But precisely because it's so deeply embedded, carrying that knowledge over to another platform used to be almost impossible. That has cost me a great deal of time in the past. A very great deal.

Because Hive CPQ is built AI-native, AI can be used directly to read the information in an existing Sofon model and translate it into Hive CPQ. Product logic, business rules, configuration structure — and the underlying data such as article structures and price tables — can all be carried across through this technique.
The end result is an excellent foundation for your new configurator — not a finished product. Fine-tuning still requires human expertise.
